The 2016 IDC Distinguished Member Award was presented to two exceptional members of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel.
Chicago attorneys and partners at Hay & Oldenburg, LLC, Linda J. Hay and Anne M. Oldenburg have distinguished themselves throughout their careers, both with the IDC and numerous other organizations.
IDC President Troy Bozarth of HeplerBroom LLC remarks “Anne and Linda have each done so much for the IDC and we are proud to recognize them as this year’s Distinguished Members. Both Linda and Anne have served the IDC in various roles over their years as IDC members and their leadership has helped bring the IDC to where it is today. It is truly fitting that longtime friends and law partners, Anne and Linda, are recognized in the same year as the IDC’s 2016 Distinguished Members.”

Linda J. Hay is an equity partner at the firm of Hay & Oldenburg, LLC. Ms. Hay received her B.A. degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (1982) and her J.D. degree from The John Marshall Law School (1986.) She is admitted to the Illinois State Bar, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She is a member of the Federal Trial Bar.
She has tried numerous cases to successful verdict and handled many cases through successful appeal. Ms. Hay is actively involved in defense bar organizations, such as the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association (Lawyers Professional Liability), and both the Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations.
Anne M. Oldenburg is an equity partner at the firm of Hay & Oldenburg, LLC. Ms. Oldenburg received her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Ripon College and received her J.D. degree, with distinction, from The John Marshall Law School. She is admitted to the Illinois State Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of Illinois. She is also admitted to the Federal Trial Bar.
Ms. Oldenburg is a member of numerous bar associations including: The Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (Past President, Executive Board of Directors, Co-Chair of Diversity in Participation Committee, Faculty – Trial Academy, Member of Medical Liability Committee, and Fall Seminar Committee), the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, and the Defense Research Institute.
Ms. Oldenburg’s other professional affiliations include the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management and the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society. Ms. Oldenburg sits on various healthcare boards. She has published and lectured extensively on issues relating to healthcare litigation and risk management issues.
